New criterion to warn of summer hailstorms in Montana

Effective June 1, Montana farmers and ranchers need to be aware that Severe Thunderstorm Warnings will change.
For the past four years the National Weather Service (NWS) Central Region has conducted an experiment on a new hail-criterion used during severe thunderstorm warnings. As part of the central region Wyoming is already using this new guideline.
