Students, get ready to show off your artistic skills. Design the cover artwork for the official holiday card from Texas Tech’s Office of the President and receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Any TTU student in good academic and judicial standing may enter. Only one entry per person is permitted.
Artwork should make no reference to specific religious holidays and should not contain images related to specific holidays. Past cards have depicted winter scenes, general illustrations and campus photography. The contest is to determine only artwork. Words or copy should not to be included in submissions.
Artwork should be approximately 4 by 6 inches, horizontal or vertical. No words or copy can appear on the design itself. No TTU logos are necessary. Produce your artwork in any two-dimensional artistic medium. Computer-generated art is acceptable (see digital requirements below). All work must be the original, unique creation of the artist submitting the artwork. No work that has been directly copied from any published source, or which includes such material, may be submitted. Artwork that has been previously published is not permitted.
Save the resulting artwork in .eps or .pdf format. The final image must be no less than 300 dpi. If using digital photography, please preset your camera at 1200 x 800 dpi. Digital artwork that does not meet the resolution and quality requirements will not be considered.
Texas Tech University will retain all reproduction rights to submitted artwork. Credit will be given to the artist. TTU agrees not to sell any of the artwork or any reproduction. Artists agree to assign all copyright and other intellectual property rights in the artwork to TTU. Entries must be original concept and constitute an original work and must not infringe on the protested rights of other artists or violate any applicable copyright laws.
All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges selected by Texas Tech’s President’s Office. Art will be judged on the artwork’s creativity and artistic merit. The winner will be notified by e-mail or phone.
