‘Tuna’ Star to Offer Acting Workshop to Texas Tech Theater Students

Workshop with actor, playwright and Texas Tech alumnus, Jaston Williams
WHEN: 2-5 p.m. Friday (Feb. 13)
WHERE: Texas Tech University Dance Studio, Sports Studies Center, 18
th Street east of Boston Avenue
EVENT: Jaston Williams, a Crosbyton native, co-author and co-star of the
"Tuna" Trilogy and Texas Tech alumnus, will present a three-hour acting workshop for
Texas Tech students. The event is presented by the Department of Theatre and Dance.
During the workshop, Williams will watch short monologues and two- and three-person
scenes by students and faculty while giving advice on how to work comedy effectively
while performing. Also, he will discuss his processes and techniques for acting using
video from performances and rehearsals.
He has received Washington D.C.'s Helen Hayes Award nominations for "A Tuna Christmas"
and "Red, White and Tuna," as well as the San Francisco Bay Area Critics Award for
"Greater Tuna."
