Texas Tech alum among inductees to Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame

Barry Corbin grew up wanting to become a cowboy — on screen and off.

Corbin, a native of Lamesa, majored in theater at Texas Tech University and went on to become Uncle Bob in the movie Urban Cowboy. He has appeared in numerous movies, including Lonesome Dove, No Country for Old Men, War Games and In the Valley of Elah.

He’s a real cowboy, too, living and working on his ranch in Fort Worth.
