Scholar Joins First SEC-funded Study of Sox Section 404

George Aldhizer, PricewaterhouseCoopers Faculty Fellow and associate professor of accounting at Wake Forest University’s Calloway School of Business and Accountancy, has been selected to assist in a cost-benefit study of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

“I am excited to be part of the SEC’s first study evaluating companies’ costs to comply with these regulations versus the public benefits of these protections,” Aldhizer said. “Our findings should help the government reduce unnecessary costs while preserving investor confidence in published financial information.”

Aldhizer is a licensed certified public accountant (CPA), certified internal auditor (CIA) and certified fraud examiner (CFE). He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Richmond and a doctorate in accounting from Texas Tech University.
