Opening from noon – 2 p.m. Sept. 8-12. Cold Corner, located in the retail corridor
of the Student Union Building, serves authentic Italian gelato in a variety of flavors,
fresh fruit smoothies and sorbetto by the scoop.
“Cold Corner offers healthy, premium products,” said Sam Bennett, director of
Hospitality Services.
The gelato is naturally 93 percent fat free, has no additives, preservatives, artificially
added ingredients and is made following the steps of the Italian tradition. The sorbetto
is naturally 100 percent fat free, 100 percent dairy free and has no additives, preservatives,
artificial flavors or colors.
“The menu items can be used as meal replacements or energizing snacks,” said Bennett.
“We are proud to be a trendsetter in the college and university environment. No other
school in Texas offers gelato. We listened to our students and responded with a high-end
concept.”
During the grand opening week, the first 250 people to make a purchase will receive
a free Cold Corner T-shirt. Free samples will be given out daily and students can
register to win an iPod Shuffle. Raider Red will make an appearance at noon Monday,
Sept. 8.
