COWamongus! serves up a variety of flavors of ice cream and sherbert as well as chocolate,
vanilla and swirl frozen custard.
Made right on campus, COWamongus! dairy treats are a great way to beat the heat this
summer.
Choose from a variety of flavors of homemade ice cream, sorbet and frozen custard.
The sweet treats are made in the fruits and dairy lab, just down the hall, in the
Animal and Food Sciences building.
But wait, Cowamongus! is not only a place to get your favorite desserts, it’s also
a retail store where customers can buy meat and dairy products processed by the Animal
and Food Sciences Department. The deli serves signature sandwiches, soups, salads,
wraps and quesadillas. Or start your day with a fresh breakfast wrap, bagel or muffin.
COWamongus! Creamery and Meat Company was created in 2005 with the support of Texas Tech alumnus Daniel Brackeen, owner
of Heritage Family Specialty Foods and creator of the TCBY yogurt chains. Brackeen
set up a partnership between Texas Tech and his company, allowing the university
access, at no cost, to his company’s equipment, technology and materials in order
to develop homemade products.
The creamery and meat company is
located inside the Animal and Food Sciences building on Indiana Avenue across from the United Spirit Arena.
