The Rawls College of Business Chief Executive Roundtable will host Lionel Sosa as
a guest speaker at a luncheon at 11:30 Thursday (March 13) at the Lubbock Country
Club, 3400 Mesa Road.
Sosa is the CEO of the grassroots online think tank Mexicans and Americans Thinking
Together (MATT.org). Sosa, who also gives motivational speeches, is the founder of
Sosa, Bromley, Aguilar & Associates, now Bromley Communications, and heads the largest
Hispanic advertising agency in the country. He is a recognized expert in Hispanic
consumer and voter behavior, education and achievement.
Sosa was named "One of the 25 most influential Hispanics in America" by Time magazine
in July 2005 and is a member of the Texas Business Hall of Fame. He is the author
of "Think and Grow Rich, a Latino Choice" published in 2006 by Random House, and "The
Americano Dream: How Latinos Can Achieve Success in Business and in Life," published
in 1998 by Dutton. He has been hispanic media consultant in six Republican presidential
campaigns beginning in 1980.
Sosa has served on many boards including the board of directors of ACT (American College
Testing) and QuePasa.com, the largest bilingual online community in the United States.
In the spring of 2001, Sosa was a Fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University.
Most recently, Sosa was awarded an honorary doctoral degree in humanities from the
University of the Incarnate Word, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National
Association of Hispanic Journalists.
