Investigations begin at Big Spring Refinery

Preliminary reports cite no cause, as investigations into what spurred Monday's explosion at a Big Spring refinery began Tuesday, officials at the refinery said it could be out of commission for up to two months.

Lloyd Heinze, Petroleum Engineering department chair at Texas Tech University, said because of this situation gas prices should not need to rise, but that because the public may expect a shortage after the explosion, prices will probably spike.
