Hutchison shines in Texas

Few politicians in Texas history could command the respect that U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison can.

Hutchison, who has served in the U.S. Senate since 1993, stopped in San Angelo on Friday as part of a three-day bus tour of West Texas.

During her speech, she spoke about local projects, such as the fund-raising efforts for the new Tom Green County Library, Goodfellow and ASU’s realignment with the Texas Tech University System. She said Kent Hance, chancellor of the Tech system, rode with her on one leg of the bus trip. “I just think this is going to be a great fit,” she said.
