With small class sizes and challenging courses taught by top faculty, honors colleges
hope to offer affordable enrichment
Everybody seems headed off to college this week. But not everybody is going to honors
college or to a new $15 million honors hall like the one at the University of North
Texas in Denton, where about 25 percent of UNT's honors college students will live.
"We're thrilled," said Gloria Cox, dean of the UNT honors college, ticking off a list of amenities including a new grand piano, soundproof practice rooms for music students and a 1,200-square-foot apartment for visiting scholars.
