Hance foresees growth for Tech in San Angelo

Angelo State University could grow to 10,000 students by 2020, the head of the Texas Tech University System said Wednesday.


Kent Hance, chancellor of the system, said Texas Tech has an enrollment goal of 40,000 by 2020. The system could reach that goal in three years if it had the infrastructure to support such rapid growth. Right now, the campus can't, and every year 4,000 to 5,000 qualified students are turned away from the university, Hance said.
