Texas Tech School of Music To Host Music Business Workshop

LUBBOCK ?V Texas Tech University's School of Music will host a special workshop and
roundtable discussion on the music business.
The workshop will take place in Room 248 of the Music Building from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Texas Tech faculty members will discuss a variety of topics:
„X Andy Wilkinson, artist-in-residence at the Southwest Collection/Special Collections
Library, will speak on publishing and copyright issues.
„X Alan Shinn, percussionist and professor of music, will discuss professional and
„X Matthew Santa, jazz pianist and associate professor of music, will give general
„X Angela Mariani, producer, radio host and visiting assistant professor of music,
will address professional and studio skills, relationships with engineers, producers
and other music professionals and how to deal with the media.
The event is co-sponsored by the School of Music and the College of Visual and Performing
Arts. It will be hosted by Phi Mu Alpha, Mu Phi Epsilon and the Vernacular Music Center.
