LUBBOCK – The following is a statement from Brad Billings, president of the Saddle Tramps spirit organization at Texas Tech University, regarding the group’s temporary suspension by the TTU Office of Campus Life:
“Several of our members encouraged our new members to come to their induction at the Bell Tower last Thursday night in costume. The Office of Campus Life views this as a possible hazing violation and has temporarily suspended the organization while they conduct an investigation.
“The Saddle Tramps apologize for this situation. It was inappropriate and a stupid thing to do on our part and the organization has investigated this and has dealt with the members involved in an appropriate manner. We have already reported our findings and actions to the Office of Campus Life.”
