WHAT: Swearing-in ceremony for new student member of the Board of Regents
WHEN: 8:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 24
WHERE: Board of Regents meeting room, 2nd floor, Administration Building
EVENT: The Oath of Office will be administered to Chad Greenfield. Greenfield was
appointed by Gov. Rick Perry as the first Texas Tech University System student regent.
Greenfield is a senior exercise science major from Monahans.
The Texas Legislature last year passed a bill allowing the appointment of non-voting
student regents to the governing board of each public university system. The student
regent will serve a one-year term. The position will rotate between students at Texas
Tech University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
