TEXAS TECH STUDENT RECEIVES HEATING/REFRIGERATION SCHOLARSHIP

LUBBOCK – A Texas Tech University student is one of 12 recipients of a $3,000 scholarship from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.

Michael Rister of Abilene received the one-year Bachelor's Engineering Technology Scholarship from the organization. Rister is a sophomore mechanical engineering technology major.

The society has awarded 127 scholarships over the past 15 years. The scholarship program is designed to encourage and assist heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration education.

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, founded in 1894, is an international organization of 55,000 members. The organization is dedicated to advancing through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve the evolving needs of the public.
