TTUHSC GRADUATE NURSING STUDENT ORGANIZES HEALTH FAIR FOR HOME SCHOOL COMMUNITY

LUBBOCK – A health and safety fair, “Stay healthy and safe . . . It’s a jungle out
there!” will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Southcrest Baptist
Church, 3801 South Loop 289.
The fair is being coordinated as a community project by Texas Tech University Health
Sciences Center School of Nursing graduate student Elizabeth Tombs for the Home Education
and Resource Team of West Texas (HEART). The event is open to all home school families.
The fair will feature 20 different stations providing the home school community with
valuable information, including free vision and hearing screenings. Door prizes and
giveaways will be featured, and the Cotton Kings mascot will be on hand from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. The fair also will include a used curriculum sale.
