LUBBOCK – The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing has ranked
among the top nursing schools in the nation for the second year in a row in U.S. News
& World Report’s 2006 edition of America’s best graduate schools.
The School of Nursing master’s degree program ranked 75th in the nation in the exclusive
annual listing and is the only ranked nursing school in the West Texas region.
“We are really fortunate to have some of the best and brightest nursing students and
faculty in the country,” said Alexia Green, Ph.D., dean of the School of Nursing.
“An honor like this will further enhance our efforts to recruit top-notch students
and faculty to meet the work force needs of tomorrow.”
President M. Roy Wilson, M.D., M.S., said the honor brings well-deserved attention
to the School of Nursing and the institution. “This honor is reflective of the commitment
we have to providing the highest quality educational opportunities here at the Health
Sciences Center,” he said.
The magazine’s rankings of health disciplines are based on the results of peer assessment
surveys by program directors and faculty at accredited degree programs or schools
in each discipline.
