TEXAS TECH SCHOOL OF ART FACULTY AND GRADUATES TO EXHIBIT AT WILLIAMS TOWER GALLERY IN HOUSTON

LUBBOCK – Texas Tech University's School of Art in the College of Visual and Performing Arts will present an exhibition featuring work by faculty and graduate students in Houston this month.

The Way out West exhibition is set at Houston's Williams Tower Gallery, 2800 Post Oak Blvd., from April 29th to June 3rd. An opening reception for the exhibition will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday (April 29).

The exhibition is curated by Sally Sprout, an independent Houston art consultant, for the Williams Towers. A wide range of art media in various subjects will reflect the breadth and depth of the talent among the group of artists including Future Akins, David Bausman, Shannon Cannings, William Cannings, Michael Roque Collins, Rick Dingus, Elizabeth Ditter, Ken Dixon, Chad Farris, Carol Flueckinger, Tina Fuentes, Christina Garza, Robin D. Germany, Robly Glover, Juan Granados, Wesley Harvey, Lynwood Kreneck, Anne Longo, Andrew Martin, Terry Morrow, Charles Neumann, Irma Sizer, Nancy Slagle, Von Venhuizen, Chen Wang, Sara Waters, Keith Welch, Bryan Wheeler, Jeffrey Wheeler, Jonathan Whitfill, J. Don Wink and Sang Mi Yoo.

Don Wink, director of the School of Art, said the exhibit will offer Texas Tech an opportunity to spotlight its talent.

"Many of our faculty exhibit nationally and internationally, but this is perhaps the first time they have exhibited together outside of Lubbock," said Wink. "This will be a great opportunity for the Houston art community to become aware of the cultural riches of West Texas."
