LUBBOCK – Texas Tech University's Student Union Information Center and Barnes & Noble Bookstore now have on sale 5 1/8 inch resin models of the Masked Rider sculpture by Tom Otterness.

The full-scale work by Otterness is displayed in the atrium of the Student Union addition. The small figures were commissioned as a result of numerous requests for affordable models of the horse and rider.

At the sculptor's request, pricing for the pieces is discounted for currently enrolled Texas Tech students. The student price is $17.95 and the cost for all others is $27.95. Only one figure can be purchased per student at the discounted price.

Works by Otterness, who lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., are on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Whitney Museum of Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. His outdoor public art commissions include "The Real World" at the Nelson A. Rockefeller Park in Battery Park City, New York.
A donation of $1 for each figure sold is being made to the Texas Tech Public Art Conservation Endowment. Proceeds from all sculpture sales will be used to establish a student scholarship fund.

For an additional $7.95, the boxed sculpture will be shipped to any address in the continental United States.
