LUBBOCK -- Texas Tech University will host Spring University Day on Friday (Feb. 18). University Day is designed for prospective students and their families to meet one-on-one with faculty, staff and students.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. in the United Spirit Arena, followed by a welcome event with the Court Jesters band, the Spirit Squads and presentations by guest speakers.

During the day, prospective students will have a chance to participate in academic information sessions, take campus and housing tours, and visit student services and organization fairs.

“This is a day that provides prospective students an opportunity to see what Texas Tech has to offer,” said Karen Hamel, associate director, Office of Admissions.

Last year, more than 2,000 prospective freshmen and more than 140 prospective transfer students and their families attended University Day. This year, about 2,500 prospective students and their families are expected.

“University Day gives prospective students a glimpse of college life,” said Mindy Holloway, Texas Tech admissions counselor. “There will be many opportunities to see what Texas Tech is all about.”
