Housed in the Operations Division, Grounds Maintenance works to provide an aesthetically safe and functional campus for students, staff, faculty and the community. The nationally-recognized department is responsible for the maintenance of sidewalks, lawns, flowerbeds, streets and parking lots, traffic signals, signage and more. Total, Grounds Maintenance takes care of about 1,800 acres.
"In a nutshell, we're responsible for everything outside the doorway of the building on campus," said Charles Leatherwood, managing director. "When we're fully staffed, we have 99 employees."
