The university is ranked 138th among the nation’s universities and colleges.
Texas Tech University made a major leap in the recent America's Best Value Rankings produced by Forbes Magazine, climbing 160 spots to No. 138 in the country.
Already ranked as one of the top colleges by Forbes, the America's Best Value Rankings are designed to help students and their families evaluate which school can give them the best return on investment for their education. The rankings are based on net price of attendance, net debt accumulated by the student, earnings of alumni, progression toward graduation, school quality and access for low-income students.
“This dramatic rise in our ranking is further recognition that Texas Tech provides an exceptional educational experience, and it reflects our commitment to provide access to a college education at great value,” said Lawrence Schovanec, Texas Tech president.
A complete list of the rankings can be found here.
The list includes only four-year universities and does not include private for-profit schools. In addition to its overall mark, Texas Tech was ranked No. 98 among public colleges.
