Teams of Texas Tech students will compete against each other in various challenges.
WHAT: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers at Texas Tech University is hosting its fourth annual Junkyard Wars event.
WHEN: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (April 7) and 12:30-2 p.m. Sunday (April 8)
WHERE: Reese Technology Center's Advanced Vehicle Experimental Laboratory, 9801 N. Reese Blvd., Suite 200
EVENT: Junkyard Wars is an annual event where teams of Texas Tech engineering students work together to create a device out of junkyard scrap and compete against each other in various challenges.
Five teams will learn about the challenge and build their devices on Saturday (April 7). Then, they'll put their creations to the test on Sunday (April 8).
Leading industry experts will be on hand to mentor the students as they craft their designs.
