Media & Communication Professor to Hold Discussion and Book Signing

Eric Rasmussen recently authored a new book designed to assist parents and children with interpreting media messages to determine their value.

EVENT: Eric Rasmussen, an assistant professor of public relations in the Texas Tech College of Media & Communication, will host a discussion “Guiding Kids Through Media” based on his new book, “Media Maze: Unconventional Wisdom for Guiding Children through Media.”

The book provides parents with useful strategies designed to help them give kids knowledge and tools to make sense of media messages and determine which are helpful and which are harmful. The book has earned praise from several scholars and media entrepreneurs, including Angela Santomero, creator of the popular children’s television shows “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” and “Blue’s Clues.”

Following the discussion, Rasmussen will autograph copies of his book. The event is free and open to the public.
