ROTC, MVP Hosts Annual Veterans Day Retreat Ceremony at Memorial Circle

U.S. Congressman Jodey Arrington and Lubbock Councilwoman Karen Gibson will speak at the event, and the Gold Star Family of Staff Sgt. Virginia Caballero will be honored.

WHAT: Annual Texas Tech University Veterans Day Retreat Ceremony  

WHEN: 4:50 p.m. today (Nov. 10)

WHERE: Memorial Circle, Texas Tech University

WHO: The Texas Tech University Army ROTC, Air Force ROTC and the Military & Veterans Program will host the annual Texas Tech Veterans Day Retreat Ceremony. The event is open to the public and will feature U.S. Congressman Jodey Arrington and Lubbock Councilwoman Karen Gibson as speakers.

The ceremony will honor Suzie Caballero Turner, sister of Texas Tech alumna and Purple Heart Recipient Staff Sgt. Virginia Caballero, as this year’s Gold Star Family through the laying of a wreath in Caballero’s honor. The ceremony will conclude with a traditional retreat of the colors featuring retired Staff Sgt. David Wayne Turpin, of the Texas Army National Guard 2nd Battalion, 142nd Infantry Regiment, as the bugler.
