Rex Tillerson will affect America's involvement in the Paris climate agreement

Salon - Former ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson downplayed global warming's dangers during a hearing into his nomination for secretary of state on Wednesday, refusing to rule out an American withdrawal from a climate treaty even as he acknowledged that "the risk of climate change does exist."

Climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe, who directs the Climate Science Center at Texas Tech and specializes in climate projections, said Tillerson's statement would have been correct more than a century ago - but not anymore.
