Did you know Texas Tech University is home to the largest collection of Vietnam War materials outside of the National Archives in Washington, D.C.? Since 1989, the Vietnam Center and Archive has amassed a collection of millions of materials from service members and their families.
The Vietnam Center and Archive's mission is to collect and preserve the history of that critical era, and it serves as a living memorial to all those who played a part in the United States' Vietnam experience.
"For most men and women who serve in combat, it's the most formative experience of their lives. It is the thing that defines them," Vietnam Center and Archive director Steve Maxner said. "We are the repository where they are now a part of our nation's legacy. Texas Tech can take a great deal of pride knowing that."
There are countless aspects that make Texas Tech University successful. It's the people, the academics, the history and so much more.
The Discover Texas Tech series highlights the entire university and details what makes Raiderland the special place that it is.
