Marine Veteran Walking 5,000 Miles Across U.S. Coming to Texas Tech

WHAT:Texas Tech University Military and Veteran Programs hosts guest speaker Ryan Weldon.

WHEN: 3-4 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 1)

WHERE: Student Union Building, main lobby

WHO: Ryan Weldon is a U.S. Marine veteran who is walking 5,000 miles across the United States to raise awareness about PTSD. He will speak about the challenges faced by veterans with PTSD. “I’m trying to save lives by getting the word out about it,” Weldon said.

Weldon’s walk began on Feb. 14 in Dover, Delaware, and is called “5,000 Miles Discovering America’s Heroes.” His walk will end in San Francisco, California, in 2016. Currently, Weldon has walked about 3,000 miles.

All faculty, staff and students can attend his talk and refreshments will be served.
