Parents Invited to Presentation on Financing College

The Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships will present to parents and students.

The Texas Tech Parents Association will host “Financing College at Texas Tech” at 7 p.m. Thursday (April 23) at the Courtyard by Marriott Lubbock in the Matador Meeting Room, 308 Ave. V at Marsha Sharp Freeway.

Parent and student attendees will have the opportunity to learn tips, tools and resources for the best ways to pay for college, including scholarships, savings, grants, loans and more. Presentation topics include overview of resources, financial aid and scholarships, work study and campus employment, and a parent and student panel for Q&A. There will be a door prize drawing of $250 gift certificates for books and supplies.

“Texas Tech Parents Association knows that a college degree paves the way for success,” Joyce Zachman, executive director of Texas Tech Parents Association, said. “We also know how expensive it is to obtain that degree. We're providing a chance for parents and students to discover opportunities at Texas Tech to maximize their financial opportunities.”

Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required and can be completed online. “Financing College at Texas Tech” will be presented by the Texas Tech Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships.
