The annual walk is the culmination of Autism Awareness Month.
WHAT: The 10th Annual Burkhart Walk for Autism Awareness is the final event of Autism Awareness Month.
Burkhart Enterprises, the S.S. Foundation, KLBK, KAMC, Goodwill Industries of North Texas and Parkview Pediatric Dentistry are leadership sponsors of the walk.
The event is free. Pre-registration is available here. The public is invited.
The Burkhart Center for Autism Education & Research at Texas Tech University, which celebrated its first year in a new building in November, cut the ribbon earlier this year for a new Quiznos restaurant staffed by students of the Transition Academy. The academy, which is the center's flagship program, has about a dozen area students learning life and job skills.
