Before the West Texas sunrise emerges onto the Lubbock skyline, Mackenzie White, this year’s Masked Rider, is up and at ‘em on game day to prepare for her first ride across Jones AT&T Stadium with her noble steed, Fearless Champion.
With hours of riding and preparation before their big debut, Texas Tech Today went behind the scenes and followed White as she prepared for her first ride.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Masked Rider program.
To celebrate, Texas Tech’s Spirit Program will host a celebration Sept. 13, inviting former riders to be recognized on the field at Jones AT&T Stadium before the Texas Tech-Arkansas game.
Texas Tech Today also will commemorate the milestone by running a story before each home football game, showcasing the the Masked Rider program and its six decades of existence.
