Texas Tech University Set for Research Park Groundbreaking

Ceremony will celebrate movement toward economic development and outreach.

WHAT:           Texas Tech University Research and Technology Park Phase I groundbreaking

WHEN:           9:30-10 a.m., Monday (Sept. 15)

WHERE:         USDA Facility on the Northwest corner of Fourth Street and Texas Tech Parkway

Phase I of the $29 million project will include at new two-story building of 41,000 square feet in Spanish Renaissance design. Within the building, there will be common space for research programs that promote entrepreneurialism and innovation, space for public-private partnerships and an incubator/accelerator for new startup businesses.

The project as a whole also includes parking and mechanical areas as well as a new main entrance. Also included in the project is a 120-seat reconfigurable meeting/conference space, 9-17 laboratory/research spaces as well as almost $480,000 devoted to landscaping and public art.
