TECHcelerator Demo Day to Showcase West Texas Start-up Companies

Student and professional entrepreneurs who participated in the four-month TECHcelerator program will present their business in the style of the reality television show, Shark Tank.

WHAT:          The Office of Technology Commercialization at the Texas Tech University System will host its first annual TECHcelerator Demo Day, showcasing innovation start-ups from Texas Tech and the West Texas region.

WHEN:          3-6 p.m., Thursday (May 15)

WHERE:       Rawls College of Business, 703 Flint Ave., Texas Tech University

EVENT:         Student and professional entrepreneurs who participated in the four-month TECHcelerator program will present their business in the style of the reality television show, Shark Tank. Eight companies with products such as medical devices, cancer therapies, software solutions and new engineering technologies will participate in the event. Prizes will be awarded, and Jamie Rhodes, CEO of National NanoMaterials, will serve as the keynote speaker during the reception immediately following the presentations.

The event will be attended by venture capitalists, angel investors, local business leaders, alumni and other community stakeholders, as well as Texas Tech University System leadership.
