Students Participate in Persuasive Speech Competition

Cash prizes are awarded to winners. The event is free and open to the public.

WHAT:           Texas Tech University students will participate in SpeakUp!, a persuasive speech contest hosted by the Department of Communication Studies.

WHEN:           6 p.m. Tuesday (May 6)

WHERE:         Allen Theatre

EVENT:          Students participating in the competition are enrolled in public speaking and business and professional communication classes at Texas Tech. A representative who completed preliminary rounds from each class will compete.

                        Judges include SGA President Hayden Hatch, Radio Personality Chad Hasty, and Bailey Watson, SACSCOC coordinator.

                        Cash prizes are awarded to winners. The event is free and open to the public.

                        The competition is hosted by the Department of Communication Studies, Pearson Education, and Barnes & Noble at Texas Tech.
