WHAT: Texas Tech University’s International Film Series offers viewing of 2014 Oscar-nominated documentary “The Act of Killing”

EVENT: Texas Tech’s International Film Series (IFS) partners with the new Alamo Drafthouse Lubbock and Department of English to present documentary “The Act of Killing.”
“The Act of Killing” had the year’s strongest box office opening for a documentary. It won more than 50 awards worldwide, including British Academy Film Awards for the Best Documentary.
“This is one of the most intricate, beautifully disturbing films I’ve ever seen,” said Robert Peaslee, coordinator for IFS. “It will make you rethink many things, including your ideas about the potentials of documentary filmmaking.”
IFS is sponsored by the Texas Tech Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center, Department of Journalism and Electronic Media, and the Thomas Jay Harris Institute for Hispanic and International Communication.
