The Master of Science in Accounting Program is ranked in the top ten in a survey by TaxTalent.

Texas Tech University’s Rawls College of Business Master of Science in Accounting Program (MSA) recently was ranked as a Top 10 national program, according to a survey submitted by TaxTalent.

The Rawls College MSA Program was ranked Top 10 in the following categories: MAcc Tax Program; MAcc Program overall; and MS Tax program. The rise in rankings marks the progressive strides the program made over the past years. Robert Ricketts, director of the School of Accounting and Frank M. Burke Chair in Taxation, said those involved with the program worked hard to reach this milestone.

“In the last two years, the School of Accounting at the Rawls College of Business has been recognized as a Top 50 Accounting Program in the Public Accounting Report, the tax program has been ranked as a Top 20 research program in the Brigham Young University rankings, and now the tax program has been ranked as one of the 10 best tax programs in the nation by tax recruiters,” Ricketts said. “When you bring great students together with outstanding faculty, the result is a world-class program. We are proud of the accomplishments of our alumni, our faculty and our student body, and we expect even better things to come. From here, it’s possible.”

“This national ranking earned by the Rawls College of Business further illustrates our continued commitment to academic excellence, especially for our graduate programs,” said M. Duane Nellis, Texas Tech president. “I congratulate Dean Lance Nail and all the faculty, staff and students who worked hard to make this Top 10 ranking possible.”

The survey, which has occurred during the past three years, provides annual rankings of undergraduate and graduate tax and accounting programs directly from the perspective of corporate tax hiring authorities. The only other schools in the state of Texas ranked in the Top 10 were the University of Texas and Baylor University.
