This award is given nationally to a graduate or undergraduate student who excels in academics in Spanish and is actively involved in their Sigma Delta Pi chapter.
“I am truly honored to receive this award and have been very blessed to be part of such an amazing organization,” said Key, a doctoral candidate in bilingual education from Jourdanton. “I have never been part of an honors organization that is so dedicated to serving the community, advancing its ideals and helping those who are willing to work hard for academic excellence.”
Comfort Pratt, advisor of the honor society, said Key has exceptional leadership qualities and as president has been truly dedicated to the organization.
“She is always willing to do whatever it takes in order to achieve our goals, and looks for opportunities to create more programs that will benefit the community,” Pratt said.
Sigma Delta Pi national offices are located at College of Charleston. They are a member of the Association of College Honor Societies, the nation’s only certifying agency for college and university honor societies.
