Dear Red Raiders,

All Red Raiders everywhere! In addition to congratulating our football team for a successful close to the season with a 37-23 win over No. 14 Arizona State in the Holiday Bowl, I'd like to offer my appreciation to you for your support of our football team and all athletic programs during the fall sports season. Whether you attended the bowl game in-person or viewed it on television, you felt the spirit and pride that comes with being a Red Raider. Results like last night are not possible without the broad support of our fan base, which includes anyone cheering for our teams. And, for that, Texas Tech thanks you.

A big thank you, of course, also goes out to Coach Kliff Kingsbury, his staff and players for their tremendous effort, not only in the Holiday Bowl, but the entire season.

As we enter the spring sports season, remember our basketball programs are entering Big 12 Conference play. As you know, a loud United Spirit Arena is one of the most difficult places to play in college basketball. Let's take the momentum from last night and spread it throughout our venues and share with each of our sport programs.

Happy New Year and Guns Up!

Sincerely,

M. Duane Nellis, Ph.D. President
