Pantex project taps wind as major electricity source

Amarillo Globe-News-Officials from National Nuclear Security Administration, Texas Tech University, Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency and contractor Siemens Government Technologies broke ground Tuesday on the project. It is located east of Pantex, which assembles, dismantles and modifies nuclear weapons for the U.S. arsenal.

Pantex Plant officials hosted a ground breaking ceremony Tuesday for a project that is to become the largest federally owned wind farm in the nation.
