Enrollment Wrap-Up: A Record-Breaking Year for Texas Tech

Student population increased in each of the spring, summer and fall semesters.

Texas Tech's student population is growing, and 2012 was certainly an indication of that. The university set enrollment record in the spring, summer and fall semester, moving closer to the institutional goal of 40,000 students by 2020.

The following is a closer look at the record-breaking semesters:

Spring 2012

For the second consecutive spring semester, Texas Tech set a record with 30,102 students enrolled for classes as of the 20th day of classes (Feb. 15), the official reporting day. This is the first time more than 30,000 students have been enrolled for a spring semester.

Summer 2012

Texas Tech set a record for summer enrollment with 11,316 students enrolled as of the 15th day of classes (June 25), the official reporting day. This is the first time more than 11,000 students have been enrolled for a summer semester.

Texas Tech established record enrollment figures for the fourth-straight fall semester as 32,611 students are on campus for classes.
