Vickie Sutton, a professor at Texas Tech University School of Law, is the author of the book The Good Samaritan Lawsand director of the Good Samaritan Law Project. She says that, with these laws, there may be different standards for volunteers who are training themselves and marking themselves as medics, than laws pertaining to bystanders and random civilians.
