More Than a Half Century Later, Holly Continues Influencing Lubbock and Popular Music

WOAI-NBC 'We have people who have moved here from England just to be in the town that Buddy Holly was in,' said Texas Tech Librarian and pop historian Rob Weiner.

This week marks 53 years since Texas born rock and roll icon Buddy Holly was killed in a plane crash in Iowa, but the musician's long shadow continues to be felt across the music industry, and in his home town of Lubbock as well, 1200 WOAI news reports.

"We have people who have moved here from England just to be in the town that Buddy Holly was in," said Texas Tech Librarian and pop historian Rob Weiner.
