The School of Music and the College of Visual and Performing Arts will host internationally recognized pianist Simon Mulligan at 8 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 28) in the Hemmle Recital Hall. The event is free and is open to the public.

Mulligan performs and records internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. Simon’s performances include the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra under Slatkin, Warsaw Sinfonia, Brno Philharmonic Orchestra, Modesto Symphony, Reading Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Sinfonia, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and English Symphony Orchestra.

Mulligan debuted at age 19 in London’s Barbican Center with the Royal Philharmonic. A month later he recorded his first compact disc under the direction of Yehudi Menuhin.
