Christopher Beck, who served in the U.S. Army, as well as the U.S. Army National Guard; and Todd Truesdell, a former U.S. Marine will lead Raider Walk.
In honor of Veterans Day 2011, two Texas Tech student veterans will lead this week’s Raider Walk, which begins at 8:30 a.m (Nov. 12) at Dan Law Field and ends at Jones AT&T Stadium.
Ryan Van Dusen, assistant director of the Military and Veterans Program, said Christopher Beck and Todd Truesdell are excellent examples of the dedication student veterans posses in balancing their academics and serving the community and country.
“As for this weekend,” Truesdell said, “I am honored beyond words with the invitation to lead my fellow Red Raiders with Coach Tuberville in the Raider Walk on this very special Veterans Day, to honor all who have served.”
“For them to have the opportunity to lead the team and participate in this great tradition is an example of how dedicated the Texas Tech family is to the success of our student veterans,” Van Dusen said.
The mission is to provide exceptional support and facilitation to students, faculty and staff for all issues related to the military and veterans. We are a support agency committed to enabling students to achieve their academic goals through campus and community wide resources with a one-stop problem resolution philosophy. Our success is measured by degree completion. We are dedicated to serving those who served.Facebook
