Texas Tech unveiled a $25,000 scholarship program Tuesday aimed at bringing more community college transfers to the university this fall.
The new program, facilitated through Tech’s Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center, is offering $1,000 scholarships to 25 students transferring to Tech from community colleges this fall, according to a university statement.
“While community colleges play an important role in the post-secondary educational environment, students often find it difficult to make the transition from a community college setting to a four-year institution of higher education, such as Texas Tech,” Jobi Martinez, director of the center, said in the statement.
