Texas Tech’s Housing Facilities Manager Receives Certification from APPA

APPA credential recognizes leaders in educational facilities management

APPA, the association dedicated to leadership in educational facilities, announced that Dale Blevins, unit manager for housing facilities at Texas Tech University, has received the new Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP) credential. “I’ve been in Housing Facilities for 23 years,” Blevins said. “I’ve been attending APPA institute for last two years. Attending the institute has definitely improved my professional ability to do my job.” The CEFP is as a way to validate the unique knowledge and competence required of an accomplished professional in the educational facilities field, said Jack Colby, chairman of APPA’s Board for Educational Facilities Professionals Certification. “Working for an educational institution is a calling — one that affects the future every day,” Colby said. “The CEFP program was designed to confirm professional achievements in the field and illustrate a superior understanding of what it takes to create and maintain safe, functional and inspiring learning environments, now and for future generations. By earning the CEFP designation, Dale shows his superior mastery and commitment to his work, his institution and his colleagues.” CONTACT: Dale Blevins, unit manager for housing facilities, Texas Tech University, (806) 742-1459 ext. 237, or d.blevins@ttu.edu.
