"Fluid Walk" by Kat Powell, a senior studio arts major from Lubbock, Texas. Powell's areas of concentration are painting and drawing.
The School of Art will present the advanced studio work from this year’s graduating seniors in the Senior Studio BFA Group Exhibition. The exhibition will be on display from Feb. 27-March 12, in the Landmark Arts Studio Gallery. All events and exhibits are free and open to the public.
A special reception for the exhibit will follow the school’s open house celebration on the First Friday Art Trail, from noon-4 p.m. on March 5.
The Senior Studio BFA Group Exhibition features work in all media ranging from ceramics, jewelry design and metalsmithing, to painting and drawing, photography, printmaking and sculpture.
The Art Building is located at 2802 18th Street (near the corner of 18th Street and Flint Avenue, just east of the Architecture Building on the Texas Tech campus). On Mondays through Fridays, visitor parking is available for $1.20 per hour in the small lot adjacent to the Art Building and on the fourth floor of the Flint Avenue Parking Garage. Parking is free on weekends. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and noon-4 p.m. Sundays. The galleries are closed on university holidays.
Art exhibition programs and speakers at the School of Art are made possible, in part, by generous grants from the Helen Jones Foundation and The CH Foundation. Additional support comes from cultural activities fees administered through the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
The School offers undergraduate degree programs in art history, communication design, studio arts and visual studies as well as MEA and MFA graduate degree and Fine Arts Ph.D. opportunities.Twitter
