Texas Tech scholarship honors former student wrongly convicted of 1985 rape

LUBBOCK, Texas – A former Texas Tech student wrongly convicted of rape then cleared by DNA evidence will be remembered with a $100,000 scholarship.

Wednesday was the 10th anniversary since Timothy Brian Cole of Fort Worth died in prison serving time for the 1985 attack in Lubbock for which he maintained his innocence.
