Anticipation for colored lights and Christmas music built up in a crowd of thousands gathered in the chilly air Wednesday evening on the Texas Tech campus.
Some of the nearly 20,000 college students and others from the Lubbock area started singing holiday music along with the Tech Combined Choir as soon as the lights went out. But Tech alumna Hope Perez said she was getting ready for what she expected would be the real excitement of the evening.
